Hubbardton Forge's first forge was fired up in a drafty old barn in the town of Hubbardton, VT in 1974. Setting out to master the art of black-smithing, the original Hubbardton Forge artisans were mentored by a "board of directors" — the few remaining craftsman of an industry gone by. To begin their forge, they scavenged through New England gathering rusting anvils, trip hammers, swage blocks, and other discarded tools of the trade.
As the country's oldest contemporary commercial forge, Hubbardton Forge is committed to creating distinctive, high quality wrought-iron lighting & accessories from their Vermont workshop. Combining traditional and contemporary styles, Hubbardton Forge produces original pieces that are very distinct, yet highly amenable to many different styles of interior and outdoor lighting. Hubbardton Forge’s diverse collection includes chandeliers, pendants, table lamps, bath and vanity lighting, wall sconces, and post lamps.
Most Hubbardton Forge fixtures offer a number of diffuser glass and finish options — including opal, stone and saffra glass, and finishes such as natural iron, black, bronze, mahogany, and dark smoke. Many Hubbardton Forge lighting fixtures are C.U.L. listed for damp and wet locations, with a number of products being ADA compliant as well.

"After seeing Hubbardton Forge fixtures in person at a designers' showhouse, we knew what we wanted... to transform a mid-60s tudor interior into an Arts & Crafts haven. This is the chandelier that we carefully chose from pictures and descriptions with confidence in the brand quality. We added a dimmer - and magic happened. Remember the 'Christmas morning' feeling you got when you were a kid and rushed into the room and saw all the gifts?...that's how I now feel about my Hubbardton Forge fixtured rooms."
